we spent a beautiful fall day on windswept farm in Jamestown enjoying some of the best apple cider doughnuts around and exploring the property. It is such a beautiful property, well worth the trip!

When Flynn was born he had a heart murmur, it was diagnosed as Patent Ductus Arteriosus or PDA, an unclosed hole in the aorta. This hole is open before a baby is born, to allow blood to bypass the lungs. The hole typically closes within the first few days of birth and is common in premature babies, but rare in full term babies. We were told that given some time, this hole should close on it’s own within the first few weeks.
After some time and subsequent followups to his cardiologist, we were informed that the hole is not going to close on it’s own as originally thought and we will now be looking at procedure to insert a device in the hole to keep the heart from bypassing the lungs and overworking itself.
The procedure was scheduled for this past Tuesday in which we spent two long days traveling to Boston Children’s Hospital for pre-op testing and then the catheterization procedure. The wonderful staff, nurses, and doctors were all great and made the whole experience great!
Flynn has recovered wonderfully, today (the day after the procedure) you wouldn’t even know he had just gone through this whole ordeal, he is truly an amazing little guy!
Flynn has rare opportunity to not only be able to spend time with his grandparents, but also his great grand parents!!

We spent a beautiful fall morning with Heather’s parents roaming around an apple orchard having all sorts of fun picking apples!
there may have been doughnuts too……..

one of our favorite Sunday morning activities, a doughnut picnic in the park!!

We took a drive down to warren to get one more lobster roll before Blount closed for the season. I think they are the best in the state, Flynn however recommends the mac and cheese!

We spent a week up in New Hampshire hiking, biking, hanging at the lake, and eating at all out favorite spots. Most importantly we spent some quality time with Heathers sister and her family! Watching Flynn and Bryce play together is the greatest!!!

Heather wanted spend her birthday doing one of the things we love. We loaded up the car and made the trip to the south county bike path and rode down to the Point Judith lighthouse. It was a bit windy by the beach, but it was a beautiful day!!

After looking a bit shaggy for a few weeks, we finally got Flynn his first haircut. Auntie Kim came over to do the honors and she did a great job! However I am not too sure if I am liking how grown up he looks now!
